[Meta] You cannot prioritize the feelings of ex-trumpers over the feelings of people whose lives have been ruined due to the vote of ex trumpers.

This is the logic of a child. Even if an avowed Nazi, who participated in genocide, expressed true remorse and regret, they should be welcomed back into humanity and treated with decency. Not exculpated nor released from punishment under the law, but given the chance to make things right.

If you think regret and remorse are some kind of "get out of jail free" card, then you fundamentally don't understand the burden and pain of true regret and remorse. In its true form, it is more than enough mental / emotional punishment. And it is the only sign that a lost human has come to their senses and deserves to be welcomed back into the tribe of decent folk.

OF COURSE people have been killed / hurt / emotionally destroyed. What do you think ex-Trumpsters are regretting? What are they feeling remorse for? They are feeling it EXACTLY because there have been real, horrible consequences to the Trump presidency.

Whole books have been written and religions formed around the importance of forgiveness given towards those who express true regret. You might want to do a significant amount of reading and soul searching if you think the reaction you're expressing is in any way the decent way to act towards Trump voters who express true regret for their choice.
