So let me get this straight. Every single person in MT is a "Human shit pile" and a "pathetic loser" because everyone you knew who was born in MT when you went to college here liked Montana and didn't want to leave. First of all i seriously doubt you're not being hyperbolic when making a statement like that. Second, no fucking shit. Half my graduating class in high school went to college out of state, while the people who had a reason to stay in MT went to college here. Of course the people who like it here are going to be the ones most interested in staying here during and after college. There is nothing inherently wrong with that either. Just because other people choose a different path and have different priorities than you doesn't make you any better than they are.
Also because a smart girl you knew in her 20s (by the way by telling this story you admitted you know there are smart people in MT) hadn't travelled much, decided to work at a college and was brainwashed into voting for republicans. Once again there's nothing wrong with working at a college or not knowing more about the world around you when you're young. Could she have decided to work somewhere out of state that would have paid better? Possibly, I don't know her. But prioritizing money over everything else will never make you a better person. It just means you like money and think people are only ever worth how much money they make. The only thing you've proven objectively is that you're judgemental. As for being brainwashed...you do realize that isn't exclusive to our state right? Go anywhere else in the country. Pick a state at random. You'll meet people like her. People who were brainwashed their entire lives must make up 90% of the Republican party at a minimum. How the fuck does that make you think the problem is MONTANANS and not the Republican propaganda machine that's been effectively lying to and manipulating people in EVERY SINGLE STATE IN THE COUNTRY for the last 40+ years?!
And your last example? It's pretty dumb to turn down a $6 raise if the job is exactly the same. But that one person has nothing to do with the other million people who live here. If it was actually because "montanans are allergic to bettering themselves," no one in the state would ever get a raise, no one who was born here would ever graduate from college, no one would move out of state for better economic opportunities etc. That's such a ridiculous and uneducated opinion to have, you have to know that? It's easily proven false. So why would you possibly think that's the case? Your argument makes no sense. Every state in the U.S. has idiots in it. Jesus fucking christ. Judging every person based on the dumbest people who live in their state is just ridiculous. There isn't a single person in the country who would seem smart if that was what they were judged for.
