Got baby trapped.

yeah I don't know why I'm getting downvoted

My cynical side says that there are a lot of people who are doing the “but what if genders were swapped” thing and are trying to blow things out of proportion here to aid in a narrative that woman also commit acts of sexual violence.

My less cynical side says that there are a lot of people here who just really have little to no real world experience with drugs/alcohol and how they relate with the casual hookup scene and can't understand how utterly normal/commonplace certain aspects of this are.

the only way he could not give consent is if he was passed out drunk

This is basically my take as well. People don't suddenly lose all control and decision making ability after a few drinks (or the equivalent of other party drugs). It definitely makes people more likely to say yes to sex but like.... That's kinda an accepted (and often desired) aspect of drinking/drug use especially in sexualized scenarios like bars, clubs, parties, dates, etc.

Idk though I'm definitely biased/have a vested interest in this since I just really don't like idea that so many of my sexual experiences are being classified as me being raped... It sits so badly with me and feels like a slap in the face to all the people out there who've been victims of serious sexual/domestic violence.
