Am hugely disappointed with Fallout 4. Where to begin? I really really wanted to love this game. I tried but I just can't.

Really bad UI. I appreciate that they tried to use the Pipboy, but even if you zoom in it takes up only ~60% of the screen. Forces everything to be put on different tabs with lots of scrolling.

The world map and local map especially are really poorly made, makes it difficult to explore

Why is there a giant [ HIDDEN ] in the middle of the screen when sneaking? Really annoying imo

Poorly designed perk trees. Sometimes you have to pump 3-4 levels into a perk just to get a useful one that you want. Some perks are completely useless, others remove gameplay variety (like the increase x type of weapon damage z %)

Poor optimization. The engine age shows. Blurry textures, massive fps drops, plastic-y characters

Bad follower AI. Getting stuck in doors, setting off traps, vanishing, etc.

Lazy settlement designed. No floating camera, no settler management system, finicky building tools.

Awful dialogue system. Like the voice protagonist but the fact that there are no real choices in the game is really sad. Your choices don't matter much.

Don't want to talk about the story to avoid spoilers, but the "different" endings are 95% similar for the most part.

Same music we've had from the last games on the radio, and the ambient music is really bland compared to skyrim, oblivion, and even fallout 3

Boring world design. Everything mostly boils down to clearing buildings packed with raiders or super mutants. Why is this fallout?

Poorly written quests. Most quests follow the "kill loot return" formula. And the few non combat quests are boring, besides the one nick Valentine one. Really disappointing.

I think this game is an 8/10, maybe 7/10, but seeing as Bethesda is capable of 9.5+ games I can't help but feel disappointed. I just can't understand how some purely baffling design decisions have made it into the game.
