Thank you for posting that. The comments are taking it as out of context as the author. And Macron does have a point. Its a highly sensitive subject matter that the author used which is crap because put that aside and yes, there is a problem with imported ideas versus ideas that diffuse from one place to another.

Imported ideas use terms and definitions that change the narrative. The ideas might be applicable but they don't fit the context and can be misaligned in meaning. When ideas are imported without taking stock of the differences in culture, history, or social rules of place they are brought to it can create misunderstandings and weaken potentially strong points.
