It's frustrating having to constantly defend your views to people who don't even want to understand them.

Paragraphed:

I'm a pretty new socialist. Before I started looking into socialism I didn't know what to believe because everything seemed idiotic. But I'm not a genius, I'm not Karl Marx, I haven't yet devoted my whole life to studying and thinking about socialism, so I don't personally know all the answers.

But people still constantly require me to defend my views with no intention of actually trying to understand them. I have to be able to answer all their questions and force feed the understanding to them to even allow me to have my views. Otherwise they say I'm naive and ignorant and my views are wrong because I can't explain exactly everything about how everything works exactly. How do they expect me to explain how all of society works with all the details in one discussion? This is very frustrating. They operate on the assumption that socialism is bad in every respect until I definitively prove otherwise. I, who have studied socialism for a few months.

If I say that they should prove to me that capitalism works they say look around you. Then I say, what I see is a non working system. Then they say, that's your opinion and it is wrong. So they think they can require me to defend myself and I will do it because I'm not a coward when it comes to dealing with people, but they can get away with just saying that they are right and don't care what I think and I accept it because they are still my friends and I'm not a dick. They are social cowards and dicks toward their friends and they think they are superior because I'm neither a social coward or a dick towards my friends.
