Fully vaccinated people of Reddit. Are you still wearing masks? Why or why not?

My husband is in the final stages of recovering from his cancer treatment. We are all alone across the country from both our families. I am vaccinated but wear a mask because I can't risk getting sick as his sole caregiver. I'm also terrified of bringing any illness back to him.

His immune system is still rebuilding itself after his stem cell transplant. He will need to receive all of his childhood vaccinations again but those can't start until he is 3 months out from transplant. It will be a 6 month process for him to get caught up, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The extra scary part for us is that transplant patients aren't getting nearly as much protection from the COVID-19 vaccine as non-transplant population. So even after he gets the vaccine we'll still have to be careful.

The looks I get when I'm in any public building as one of the sole mask wearers hurts. People are rude and argumentative. I'm exhausted all of the time and worry about what nasty interaction I may experience every time I leave the house. I dread it.
