The Future of Fallout

It feels strange to have someone arguing against my points on a thread in which I never posted, but here we are.

in Fallout 1 the way you build your character drastically affects your experience of the game. The narrative may go from A to B to C but the experience of getting there is different enough that replaying the game multiple times with multiple character builds results in different experiences.

In the case of Fallout 1, this is simply not true. With one specific exception; INT 3 or less.

Character build has little to no impact on your experience of the game or the game-world with multiple playthroughs.
While certain skills and stats may provide a different method with which to bypass a particular obstacle, the same is true of ANY game where "character skills" feature and it's dishonest to pretend that this provides a substantially different experience.

With a low INT build the "different experience" is a fundementally restricted one.
With your character unable to hold a conversation you are prevented from accepting side quests thus "experiencing" less of the game.
If you need the game to railroad you with restrictions, you're not role-playing.
