I used to have lots of pro gear years ago, and eventually sold off most of it except for a few precious guitars that i’ve put years of patience, frustration, love and 10’s of 1000’s of hours of practice into. What the brands are don’t matter to me anymore.

Now that I am older, as long as i have those few most precious guitars, maybe a slight touch of reverb and delay, that’s all I need. I can always pick them up and find something new, different, or challenging to learn on them, and that’s where the real joy is for me.

Also, I think my recent discovery of tom bukovacs youtube channel has really brought me back to my roots of just playing and listening for the enjoyment and zen it brings to play.

Gear is fun, but, being able to still play everyday is what i am most thankful for.
