The location is they key problem IMO, Friedrichshain is already suffering of gentrification and having thousands of highly paid workers living day-to-day in that area will only make it worse.

I’m not sure there would be the same response if it was being built in other districts like south Tempelhof (not Tempelhofer Feld…) or Lichtenberg, which are both still easily reachable by transportation. These districts would actually benefit from having companies like Amazon having offices there.

Look at the new Siemensstadt or the plans for Tegel, did anyone really speak up publicly against these? What about the eBay/PayPal campus? I’m actually asking. These are all very different from Google straight up trying to build a tech campus in the middle of Kreuzberg.
