Gender nonconforming people are continually being subsumed into "gender identity" by the LGBTQ community

What is actually being imposed on you by that, though? The point of including things like nonconforming presentation even if you don’t actually identify as another gender is because bigots won’t give a shit if you do or not and oppress you the same either way. So, for the purposes of the Trevor Project and legislation and such that’s much more concerned with providing resources and protections against that than necessarily how/what individual people consider themselves as, they’re still important to count because many of the same things they offer may still be helpful, and they need to ensure they’re prioritizing/allocating them properly. It’s not to force you to view yourself as trans/non-binary or identify with any gender; if you don’t want to then you’re perfectly free not to.

Also re the 100+ choices being condensed into a broader umbrella, that’s kind of just necessary for any feasible analysis, especially when many of those probably only have a relative handful of respondents each and are generally a matter of personal nuance rather than drastically separate enough not to generalize. Re the deeming cis lgb people as non-binary idk yeah seems questionable but I’m not familiar w anything about that survey
