Giving an old SV650 another chance

This is an album chronicling the past year and a half with my 2006 Suzuki SV650S. Two years ago, it was sitting in a shed as a non-runner, but as it turns out there was a solid, immensely reliable engine at the core that was plagued only by a bad ground and bad regulator/rectifier. I swapped the front end for a 2008 GSXR 600 one, put on a new exhaust, purchased some new Chinesium fairings, fitted some other accessories/odds and end, and proceeded to embark on a 2700 mile road trip from New Hampshire to the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina, taking the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way home.

Is it work it to put what amounted to a few thousand dollars in parts onto a bike that is worth... well... a few thousand dollars? Financially, no. Spiritually, yes. There is something incredibly gratifying about giving a neglected motorcycle a new lease on life, and I have now found a bike that I believe is more fun to ride than my Ducati 959.
