at least some, if not all, models of the original ps3 were advertised as devices that 'hey, if you want to, just put linux on it and run it like that'. after a few 'updates', you had the option of either staying on the ps network, or giving up the capability of running another OS on the box. so, your 'duo' box just now turned into either a linux box (which is fine if you want to run kodi etc), or a playstation that can play playstation games. but, not either/or anymore. one or the other, pick now.

fucking assholes. i complained and bitched through multiple outlets at sony. didn't do any good. but, i did vent a bit, so that was nice. :) i figure if i pay a lot of money for my hardware, and hardware that is actually sold with a particular feature, i should get that feature.
