Google photos still thinks my dog is a rock. Now A.I. will detect if a person is lying.

From their website:

In 3 minutes, IdentityDetect can spot a liar with a web-based test.

About as believable as those tests that gauge my IQ in 10 questions. This kind of stuff is actively dangerous and needs to be shut down. If it worked, maybe we could have a conversation around the technology, but it doesn't. It would probably be easy to fool if you knew what features the model they use prioritizes, it's probably sensitive to all sorts of factors outside dishonesty, and the fact that I couldn't find any material about how they got their accuracy figure is concerning. They should be including precision and recall as well, and documentation of exactly how they conducted their studies. If 90% of the people in their study lied, and their classifier always guessed the person was dishonest, then they'd have 90% accuracy and the model wouldn't be worthless in actually detecting lies.
