Guess I was wrong...there was no danger at all

I mean it’s not bullshit. You don’t have to think it means the movies are good or Lucas is brilliant, but the idea that there wasn’t a plan to create a sort of cyclical story based on a formula used in a lot of ancient myth is pretty willfully ignorant. You have shots that not only directly mirror each other visually but thematically. If you know anything about the creative process and how much planning goes into even basic movie’s like a generic rom com’s shots, you’d know it would be way harder for that kind of thing to happen over and over by accident than with purpose.

Do people sometimes read more into something than there is? Sure. But Lucas says that’s what he’s doing and it’s easy to show that’s what he was doing with examples...it’s not like Room 237 or a David Lynch movie where some interpretations might be true but the creators were less vocal about the meaning of their work so it’s hard to know 100% what was and what wasn’t purposeful. If an artist says “this is what I’m doing” and then the art corresponds with that statement then guess what, it was on purpose.
