Not to mention the millions of $$ they get from gun manufactures.

Whose products gun owners and NRA members happily buy. This whole "...but the gun industry's money!" thing makes sense only to people with an anti-capitalist bias. Gun owners buy guns, and we want companies to make the guns we buy. We're good with this and happy they donate to the NRA. If a gun company should suddenly become anti-NRA for some reason, they'd be punished by American gun owners.

See, this is what happens when the question is asked: "Should people have to go through a background check to buy guns at a gunshow." And people say yes.

What is conveniently left out of the question is the this: "Should you have to go through a background check to buy a rifle from your dad? Your best friend? Your range buddy?" That is conveniently left out because when you add that in, you'll find the answer is quite the contrary.

The "trade show loophole" as you describe it isn't a loophole at all. Firearms dealers must go through normal processes to sell guns. Individual gun owners selling a gun or two out of their own collections do not. This has been turned into, "OMG you can totally go to a gun show and come home with an arsenal with no background check."

Expand the actual consequences of closing this loophole, and then ask the question. But anti-gunners will not do that for obvious reasons.

Why, in light of this this apparent disparity between NRA members and its leadership, have NRA members not angrily walked out, if they're so at odds with leadership?

This disagreement is an anti-gunner's fantasy.

So if the NRA listens to it's members it would support these measures, but they don't, they listen to who they really represent, gun manufactures.
