The hard truth: There are not enough PvP Players for effective SBMM

True true but even more people are getting screwed than just the players people think of as conventional sweat top crust % players. While obviously it's not going to play out exactly the same as those in the top .01%, there's way more people facing the negative brunt of SBMM getting tuned up when they can just be very ordinary give or take .70-1.0 KD players.

One of the biggest problems is it's an extremely low bar to clear to be consider conventionally "above average" when it comes to playing Destiny 2 PVP, I don't think a lot of people realize even when the game has gotten kinder for a lot of stuff that can pad your numbers(sake of argument take any boom of a particular subclass, exotic, weapon etc) , it doesn't take a whole lot of effort to have the game think you're decent . These are people who can get jacked up by SBMM even if they're not anything super special.

It's also worth considering with a smaller player pool in the mix, the game can just start to give up and shuffling in virtually anybody after a certain point due to not finding any available people that wouldn't cause some jank. I've had wait times cross the 8 or so minute mark when I'd play with lower skilled clan mates and the game just pulled guys like Zkmushroom into it just to fill things out as things were idle for so long. Sure maybe a fluke weird coincidence, but it still doesn't make a lick of sense for those supportive of such heavy handed sbmm.

I think a lot of people are misguided thinking that not totally being on board with SBMM means that the person is some big sweatlord who wants to stomp, there's a lot of ordinary players who get affected by this negatively.

Nobody wants to play a game mode that feels like there's a million dollars on the line for a mode that generally was a bit looser dumb fun and experimental to try out builds.
