Quiet is key. It has to be the right room set up, preferably with no microphones/speakers to amplify the noise because it seems the musicians cannot resist cranking the noise up to damaging levels.

My neighbor used to be a musician. He loves loud bands in restaurants. He is also so deaf that you have to scream at him and even then he usually is just guessing at what you are saying to him. I have screamed the same sentence to him several times and then received a really weird answer making it clear he still didn't know what I said. He finally went to get hearing aids after resisting for a couple years so you can have a normal conversation with him again.
