I Hated Breath of the Wild.

Sometimes I sit back and think about this game and think "would I have enjoyed it, really, if I didn't have all this nostalgia attached to the franchise?" And Ive come to the conclusion that no, I probably wouldn't not have. They did some things right, like that initial captivating feeling that this is my world to conquer and everything can be explorer... But then, the reality of the game slowly creeped in and I quickly realized there just wasn't that much really there to reward my experience. If I hadn't been waiting for this game for 5 fking years, I probably wouldnt have kept going after the first 10-20 hours.

I really dont want to have this opinion on this game. I really tried everything it had to offer, searching for every morsel of joy I could suck out of it... but yeah, I think I only did that because its in hyrule and boy have I ALWAYS wanted to explore a 3D open-world Hyrule... but damn, sad to say in retrospect it was a shallow game.

I'll give the DLC2 a try, we'll see what they add on to the experience, but my expectations are low. Im also definitely not on the edge of my seat for the next Zelda game either. Think that ship has sailed for me.
