Hawaii senators fire back at Sessions: 'We won’t succumb to your dog whistle politics'

Damn. I mean I'll be honest... He still has promise on some level. He just needs to be held accountable for what he has already done (which I think he has been) and he needs to get a leash on him (I do not mean that in a kinky way) to stop this friggin underage sexting.

Like seriously. Thats this guy's vice. Does he have other vices? Because this is the one thats come up a few times. And if someone is continually breaking the law like this, there should be a way to reprimand them relative to that problem, and stop future infractions, without completely eliminating the positive things they can do for society. A person who can't help but do fraudulent accounting should not be a banker. But if they happen to be an amazing Chef, I don't think their other vice should mean they can't be that great Chef provided they pay for their indiscretions. And we should be able to put a hold on them such that they are unable to act upon that one vice, but free to live their lives otherwise.

I know I'm likely preaching to the choir, and also acting utopianistic... But I can imagine a world where Weiner is reprimanded, and restricted such that he ceases his vice, while still being a powerful politician and advocate.

But, I guess thats not our world. It requires too much nuance of a criminal justice system and too much nuance of public perception. And in a nation with a broken justice and public perception system as ours (coming from the right, but bleeding into the left) it would be irrational to recognize him as anything but over.

tl;dr I agree.
