I guess I don't know. I just always assumed we were given free will if God created everything. Otherwise isn't heaven and hell cruel? If we didn't have free will and were more or less born into a simulation without choice, that means we are just randomly assigned eternal good or eternal damnation right?

Again I'm not religious so I don't know many of the stories or their meanings. So maybe God didn't give people free will. Although if that's the case, religion just became way more confusing lol. I just always assumed we were "given" free will, since the whole entire point of religion is basically "be good". If it's all predetermined, then religion is pointless, because we are all already assigned good or bad.
