Hello! I’m traveling to Ukraine this winter and am wondering if there is anything I, as an American, should know before my arrival in a couple months.

Locals will see you as one of the "shitty" people who came to visit the country due to a certain recent TV interest (HBO but wont mention specific series [My work colleague from West of EU went to Chernobyl just because of this show]).

For many people in Ukraine - Pripyat is still a tragic place and what happened there and the impact it caused. (I guess you could say "Entire city is a permanent monument")

People coming to Pripyat purely out of interest from TV Show (wont mention which (HBO) , we've all seen it [and tbh I loved it]) just seems wrong.

Nobody gave a shit about Pripyat for over 20 years until TV show came around, now out of sudden - everyone rushes?

Nah fuck that, Pripyat isn't a tourist site, it's an abandoned/monument/tragedy city (Still radiated not to mention) site for many people, it shouldn't be used for crap like #InstaHashTags #IamFamou #IamInNoMansLand #IamInChernobyl instagrammers or tiktokers (whatever these cunts are called now)

It's like going to your local celebrity tomb stone and graveyard and posting selfies, your friends may think it's cool but anyone else will think - you're a fucking dickhead.
