hey! I want to help someone in your country. what can I do ?

I've helped some who asked for help in the sub, or who just obviously needed help based on what they were posting. I don't think anyone I ever helped was lying. Usually they send photos of the things they bought or something like that. I try not to put too high a verification burden on because what if they really are starving and so poor they cannot meet that burden? Then I am teasing a starving person with food.

It's never possible to be sure, but helping directly and knowing you're help is only 90% certain is better than giving through a multinational you know is only going to deliver 2% and keep the rest as overhead expense.

Don't give more than you can afford. It feels good to give, and that is the point of it.
