You know what? Your completely right, and I know what it is that's bugging me now.
The most insightful part of this whole thing, the title and the laser beams reference is from that very Talking Funny interview he uses clips from.. but unless I'm mistaken.. he never shows that clip of Jerry saying that "laser beams" line, which says what he's trying to say.. but better. Which basically sums up this entire video in a matter of seconds.
Louis says a pretty dark joke here, and they spend a bit of time analyzing why it's funny. 43:25 specifically is where Jerry explains to Louis why that dark joke got a laugh, which honestly applies to this Dave video too.
