How do you get Donald Trump to change a lightbulb?

True. I just think the electoral college is pointless. It just makes each person's vote weighted differently which seems incredibly undemocratic.

The only argument I see is that candidates would only care about big population centers and not other states issues. But we see the same thing with the electoral college where candidates will campaign heavily in swing states and push issues that apply to them and ignore the rest.

An example of this is the fact that Trump campaigned only 11 times on the entire west coast. CA, OR, and WA have a total population of 50 million and went largely ignored because they knew how the vote was going to go and there was no need to try to sway individuals. He also campaigned 21 times in SC, a state with a population of 5 million, because it is a swing state. He cared far more about the issues of 5 million and ignored the other 50 million because of the electoral college.
