Let's say someone asks where to farm "faerie dust". You know that there are only 2 places to farm faerie dust, of of cows and off of chickens. However, it has a 4x higher drop rate on cows than it does chickens.

You tell op that it drops off cows and chickens, and I reply to your comment by saying "it also drops off of chickens but much less common". My comment, although redundant to yours, still offers more information to the op.

dumb analagy i know, but if the op was a druid or shaman, then my comment was still much more informative than yours and basically if i had worded it in a way that was agreeing with you instead of pretending to create a idea as opposed to elaborating on yours, you might not have downvoted?

It just seems much better for good information flow to have responded with "i did say that too but yeah you bring up a good point". I thought when you said return armor from missions you meant armors that default rewarded missions. if at least one other person who has ever played wow might make the same assumption, then your downvote hurts information flow.
