How has MFA changed things for you?

The good
- I thought some clothes were just overpriced because of brands and I was somewhat right. Somewhat right in that many generic brands are those but there are brands who are worth the dough.
- I can recognize stuff. This is big to me. I would've never known what CP was or what a chore coat was.
- Fit of clothes > Fat body. This was very important to me. My backside is big so I used to wear baggy stuff think it would hide it. I look at pictures of me back then and I look like a clown. Now I search for fit clothes and have been able to wear short shorts without any fear. I've also gotten more appreciation for my soccer thighs.
- I know brands. I thought Levi's jeans were top of the class and thought JCrew were elite so I limited myself to those brands. I had no idea about Apolis or CP or 3:16 or Outlier or Todd Snyder or Reigning champ or Stan Smiths which are so mainstream in these communities and for right reasons. I also limited myself to Nike socksI bought a denim from 3sixteen and tees and henleys from Pistol Lake which are just so perfect. Especially pistol lake because their tees just fit perfect on my body. They've been my go to for tees and their new oil washed tees are so damn nice.
- Finally, I have grown to appreciate fashion. Also that just because someone wears something you don't have to. I thought you had to wear leather jackets to look cool or some skinnies but I didn't like the aesthetic or it didn't fit me well.
- The big names here and the mods are down to earth and write some really good stuff.

The bad
- Some think that they have to critique every fit posted here. I remember once a well known member had posted a fit here and someone critiqued it to which he just replied "I don't care" which was awesome.
- I like to dress up but my classmates show up in hollister tees and sweats. I also judge them for spending 60 bucks on a game but not getting themselves a decent pair of jeans.
- I am spending a lot of money. My favorite outfit of charcoal jeans and gray tees with a steel mesh watch and stans cost $110 which I wore for a year. The gray tees were CK inner shirt and jeans were from Combatgent and a WD watch from alibaba with my variation. I basically wear the same outfit now but the price is upwards of $500 lol. It's a tee from either Velva Sheen or Pistol lake, pants from Bonobos, a Tissot and CP.

The other
- It's amazing to me how so many people just don't have any sense of style and community like this seems important.
