I want a very specific type of ranked system that actually caters to people who want to play ranked & improve. It also helps foster a Team League that people actually will want to use(unlike HotS) and will also allow Free Agents to get noticed.
I want a Solo Queue Ranked that's actually Solo Queue
Give us a 1-year long SOLO QUEUE Season. It can take a long ass time to get to where you belong & it's very rewarding actually getting there. A 1-year long Solo Queue system allows that. No Duo. No "Dynamic Queue". SOLO QUEUE.
How in the world am I supposed to take Ranked serious when I want to see where I stand as an individual player but I'm getting put vs people playing together who will clearly have an advantage?
Look. I get it. You want to let people play together. Ranked isn't the place for that. There's also the factor that people are MUCH less likely to take the game serious & more likely to goof off when playing with a friend. When I play Ranked I expect everyone on my team to be on point.
I want a 3-month long Team League
TEAM LEAGUE. Not Duo. Not Dynamic Queue. Not 5-stack. You register your team with 6-buddies. This allows you to have 1-ringer.
LoL shows us you can't allow people to be on a team unless they actually play or people will get boosted. Make everyone on the team participate in at least 10 ranked matches or they don't get credit that Season.
Also, HotS & old school League are both prime examples of why a long Team League system is bad. People will only play it in the final months. Around month 2-3 is when people really start to get serious about it, so having a 3 month TL seems like it would be about right.
With a system like this you allow players to recruit Free Agents from Solo Ranked. How? Well a long Season allow those who are working hard to stand out in the long run. If you stay top ranked throughout the year, it shows teams that you are consistently performing well & can hold your rank. League showed us this system works in recruiting Free Agents. On top of that, short Team seasons keeps it competitive & keeps 1 team from just sitting on top, but that's okay in Solo Queue because it keeps it competitive because Free Agents are the types to take this mode serious.
I want the Rank names to have actual meaning & not this pretentious crap
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, (maybe add), Diamond, Masters, and Grand Masters.
