How much do you Americans learn about other countries?

That’s understandable, the US wasn’t a part of Denmark’s history. I’ve read many posts from British Redditors that have said the following in many ways but the information is the same: The colonies were insignificant and didn’t really matter to the British at the time. (This is strange because they spent quite a bit of money to try and keep them.) American history is but a footnote in their expansive history. (This is also understandable but it’s contradictory to what OP is saying; that they learn American history. So I’m curious about what’s truthful here. Did they learn anything about American history if it’s just a footnote covering insignificant colonies?)
