How much do you make per year?

I'm on limited hours now but making it. Previously, after taxes I'd take home about 30k (Canadian). After my expenses, I have about $200 left in a month. I'm not struggling to eat and I'm safe, but I'm in a grey zone area where I can't do anything more than I am now until at least my debts are paid off.

The biggest factor for me is that I live in a high cost of living area. A one bedroom rental is in the range of $1200-1800. I live with my family. Even if I made double what I do now, I would be just making it if I were on my own.

It's not so much the money coming in, but the baseline that is required to go out (housing, food, transportation, living). The average income here is like 40k pre tax and most people are just making it. It's better with a dual income, and kids give you child tax income. But inflation has gone through the roof. Even people making 100k are finding it hard to buy homes.
