I try to shop everything second hand now, unless the brand has sales that match the second hand prices.

It's great when I find something I love that is $$$ on the store website, but has gone down 90% on Ebay or Poshmark. Recently I really wanted a pair of Levi's Wedgies, but it cost $100 on the website and I was not ready to spend that much on a pair of jeans. After one month of waiting around Poshmark and Ebay, I saw a pair for sale on Ebay for less than $25. It was just such a great deal. It just takes lots of patience to find the item I want though. I sometimes wait months for one item to show up on the second hand market.

Some things I don't buy second hand as much - tshirts, unless they look pristine, barely worn online. I am afraid of odors/perspirant issues.

Things I definitely think is worth buying second hand are jeans, shoes, bags, and sometimes jackets. Just need to make sure the quality of the items match the prices. I'm wary though, of buying designer items second hand, but with the advent of Real Real and other sites, I'm sure it's easy for people to buy higher priced stuff too.
