All the work I get from him is hand drawn sketches or meticulous notes of exactly what he wants done, such as “model this gearbox (model number given), add it to this assembly, and clearance this bracket (hand drawn sketch given) not to hit it.” He insists that I list him as the engineer on the work and that it goes through him before going to our superior for final approval. In any of the work he gives me there is zero room for me to make any decisions whatsoever.

The work I get from my actual boss is a lot better (more on my level) but very sparse. This guy sees that I don’t have much to do so he keeps offloading his CAD work onto me since we don’t actually have drafters here.
