How is this progressive mentality not just twisting the Bible to fit our own narratives?

First of all, the Bible was written by man. It was written about a Man who came to us with a divine message.

That message was simple: love.

There is nothing in the Bible attributed to Jesus that comes anywhere close to exclusion, bigotry, or hatred.

Now, because we are people we will of course take any message and personalize it. That is our nature.

However, the message is so simple that it leaves no room for error. Love is love, and you just know it. Whether it is a baby deer suckling from its mother, a dog chasing after its guardian, or a sister taking care of her brother. We see examples of love everywhere.

Our lives are mortal, and all things come to pass. However, we should appreciate the short time we have in this world even with all its faults and bad things, and even in great discomfort or pain to us we should not do the same towards others. I think that if we accept that this world has many elements in it that are out of our control, then we can just focus on ourselves and try to lead Christ-like lives. Life is too short for hate.
