Does OpenChristian believe in the realm of the demonic? I want to hear your thoughts/stories!

Some reading I'd suggest: The Fire that Consumes by Edward Fudge. The Rethinking Hell podcast is incredible at explaining why the Bible doesn't teach eternal torment, they've also wrote a book. Love Wins by Rob Bell. The first two are from a more fundamental perspective, whereas the latter is from a progressive perspective.

I share this because of paragraph 2. This speaks to the Nature of God. What kind of God would torture humans for simply lacking belief? Would God torture me for instance for a lack in belief of certain doctrines even though I believe love is the ultimate goal? Is my lack of belief in the details shared in the gospels enough to keep me out of heaven even if my lack of belief isn't my fault? It's not like I'm choosing not to believe, I'm simply not convinced.

God would not be good by any reasonable definition if God is torturing humans. This is the crux of the argument. It doesn't seem to follow from His Nature Biblically either. It say do unto others as you'd have them do to you, not do unto others what they would do to you. Also, Jesus says on the cross, forgive them, they know not what they do. Jeuss says, forgive 70*7. It seems to show compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love, and all people see is judgment. Not just judgment, but unbalanced judgment. Eternal suffering for a mere lifetime of sin. This seems incompatible with a good God.
