How to take a punch in BOLLYWOOD

ok i see your problem here.

But Bollywood movies still are always superhit in non-Hindi speaking States e

yes except they are not.
we've already established that all of north india either understands or speaks Hindi.
so outside of non-Hindi areas, they are not 'superhits' because the only other area outside of north india is south india.

but you won't see any South Indian movie being superhit in anywhere in the country except South India.

yea this is absolutely true and the opposite is true as well.
north movies aren't hit in south and south movies aren't hit in north.
exactly why is a mystery to me.

Mainstream as in watched by the majority of the people of a country regardless of their native language.

right in that case bollywood is not mainstream since it is only watched in areas where the language is spoken.

South Indian movies are regional,

north indian movies are also regional.
they are filmed and screened in the northern region.
they are not somehow representative of the 'main' whilst all the other are just fringe.
that's horribly exclusive and downright insulting.
bollywood=/=indian film industry.

bollywood is just ONE industry, the biggest one yes, but just ONE.

They are a significant minority, but just because they produce their own movies doesn't make their movies mainstream.

no..the fact that they make movies and watch them makes them mainstream.

And the significant majority of Indian population does not watch South Indian movies.

so it seems you're identifying mainstream by audience size.
i'm going to disagree with that classification.
north is just one region, south is just one region.
that north has more people doesn't mean it's more representative or 'mainstream' than an another industry.
