When I was little I was walking home from school and this older man was walking behind me basically the entire way from my school to my neighborhood. My parents had instilled a great deal of paranoia in me so when I became panicked, I stopped by the local bakery, went inside and told the owner that a man was following me. The owner didn't hesitate, stepped outside the store and yelled at the man to "leave the little girl alone" and to "stop following the little girl". He had already continued on his way.

It's been 25 years and I still feel bad for this dude who was probably just minding his own business, walking home or something just to suddenly be accused of being a potential child abductor.
