How would you expect someone who has never heard about Christ and Christianity to verify that the things you believe as a Christian are true?
Three things:
Facts of the case, and historic, secular records.
Logic of the claims vs logic of opposing viewpoints. Irreducible complexity, how life began, etc.
Personal experience. When you ask Him to show you or help you understand, the things He does in your life are humbling, to say the least. When you ask a question and get a powerful answer, that's moving. "It's just a coincidence!" You'll say. But after several dozen of these "coincidences", it will hit you what's actually going on, and that will humble you to your core!
The great part about that last point is that you don't need to take anyone's word for it, you can try it yourself.
