How has your behaviour towards gay bros changed with age?

My family always taught me that it was perfectly normal and you shouldn't be hateful. I took this on board and never personally had an issue with gay people.

I must admit though, in the late 90s and early 2000s at my school calling people gay or other homophobic slurs was almost default. Sadly I must admit I took part in this, despite me personally not having any ill will towards gay people. (It's hard to explain, I would never in a million years call an actual gay person any slur at school, but on the rugby pitch I would call an opponent the f word, that is still no justification, it was a bad environment for that sort of behaviour).

After I moved schools the first guy I made friends with was gay and I had lots of gay friends ever since. I never use such words as insults and will call out others who do. I regret the attitude I had when younger.

But in general I have never actually had any negative feelings towards gay people. They are the same as everyone else.
