I may get downvoted a lot for this. You can’t really control who you find attractive or not, but you should be able to control your actions and words. I can imagine that it was very uncomfortable for the girl when she heard that, so he shouldn’t express how he felt about her during her teenage years. The ‘waiting until she is an adult’ is actually something I don’t have a lot of problem with. That means he knows that it isn’t right to express his feelings and that he’s aware that if he does want to do something, he needs to wait for legal age. It means that he has control that is necessary for his ‘feelings that aren’t legal’. It does sound kinda perverted, but really you can’t contol who you’re attracted to.
