Carl Sagan dies. Space Jam does not stop this.

1997: Michael Jordan's increasingly erratic behavior starts to cause concern. He provides an unexpected amount of funding to SETI and is spotted cave diving on several occasions.

His publicist is overheard talking about an alien abduction while drunk at a bar, raising rumors about Jordan's mental health.

After a long dispute and ensuing trial, Barkley and Ewing are both found guilty of gambling on sports and suspended indefinitely.

Kurt Cobain dies. Space Jam does not prevent this from occurring.

1998: An oil drilling company working in Australia unleash a strange monster. Some reports describe it as "like the Tasmanian Devil". Reports of "Bunyip" sightings abound.

2001: Mickey Mouse's battle for toon rights meets backlash. He struggles to keep the nation united.

The World Trade Center is attacked by Monstars. They have one demand: basketball.

Michael Jordan re-emerges from his long absence, a basketball under his arm.
