If you could tell Reddit to shut the hell up about one thing forever, what would it be?

I think you have a distorted view of atheists. You are clearly biased against non-theistic world views. The reason that there is not an equivalent comparison between atheists and christians is because atheists do not try and have society at large forced to participate in their theistic views. Atheists want to do their thing and they want you to do yours to, its just that they do not want to have to deal with your thing. Atheists have consistently been oppressed by christians. In some school districts their children are forced to learn about creationism in SCIENCE class, how would you feel if atheists came to your church and talked about evolution? Christians also oppose gay rights on the grounds of religious doctrine. Atheists do not undercut the rights of others on the grounds of some personal belief. Atheists don't want to take away your right to believe in whatever you want, atheists want to stop you from imposing your views on other. Atheists don't threaten vulnerable people seeking medical treatments. Atheists do want civil rights, but they want those rights not to be affected by anyone's religious views. Atheists don't want to ban semi public mention of a god, they want to ban public promotion or favouritism towards a religion. They don't want to see a courthouse with tributes to a god, they don't want to see people coming to our public schools and pushing religion on people. They don't want to see politicians say things like "well the bible says its ok" to justify discrimination. Atheists want churches to pay taxes on land ownership just like any other social club. Atheists want public spaces to not be reserved explicitly for christian faith displays. Sure some atheists are angry, and some of them are militant and they can be really obnoxious. Just like some christians are psychopaths that wants to stone gay people to death and burn anyone that doesn't agree with their beliefs. Just like all human beings have behaviour that exists on a spectrum. But the core difference is that while both communities are comprised of both wonderful and terrible people, the atheist community is trying to make society more open for everyone and the christian community is trying to make society more comfortable for christians.
