I'm new to this sub, and just wanted to say it has the best styling I've ever seen on reddit

In advance, apologies for the long OT post as this is going to come off as a tad ranty:

It's one of those boards that use some kind of ethical standard as an excuse to hate or make fun of others.

I'm not one to stand on a soapbox, but I think /r/kotakuinaction gets a lot of unnecessary flak. The sub has been actually really nice to me and people there are actually real chill and have given me no reason to doubt or judge the sub, granted I'm very up-front with my opinions, and I generally approach things logically and realistically, so I'm not always agreed with on there, but it comes with the territory. I was drawn to it after kotaku practically lied to it's user base, then alienated that exact same user base and pretended nothing was wrong and hoped that it would go away. And the worst thing was, other mainstream sites did the same thing too, sites I visited almost daily for my gaming information.

I normally wouldn't say anything, but you seem like a chill guy otherwise which made me surprised you'd go to that sub.

I appreciate the compliment, as well as your candor in the matter. Thank you for not being reactive about it(as KIA can cause some agitation with other subs) :) I am legit a pretty chill dude, it comes with what I did before where I am at now, so it's impossible to upset, or rattle me and make me lose my temper and "spill my spaghetti" as it were. But I consider myself the type of man that stands by his beliefs. Granted my moral compass is pretty broken, but I've never found anything questionable going on @ KIA, and all the stuff that would cause issues has been rectified by the mods there. And so far, KIA has not shown me that they "hate" anyone. Make fun of, perhaps they do. But let's be realistic here, a lot of it is usually out of either sarcasm or outright revulsion, and it's usually brought on by the people who instigate the sub and the #gamergate hashtag, then cry foul and offensive when they get disagreed with and then cry further when evidence of their idiocy is brought to light and then start slinging "hot button" words around to incite hostile reactions in order to draw attention away from themselves.

tl;dr: /r/kotakuinaction is not the hive of hate and harassment certain other subs make it out to be.
