Didn't even know you could change resources with IH, i only use it to add more realism/difficulty.

Here are the ones i'd recommend (And the shortcuts i've noted for IH r217, if other version you can find them with a quick ctrl+f on the html documentation included in the IH zip file):

Time Scale (the most important imo):

• 14.1: Clock time scale 1 (time flows as in real life, compared to 20 times faster by default: it allows you to not see the sun rise then set twice in a single mission, looks beautiful for longer during sunsets and sunrises, and gives you sandstorms that feel like they never end)

Support Heli:

• 15.8: Start Free Roam on foot (you skip the one-minute helicopter intro)

• 15.10: Start Mother Base on foot (same on MB)

Player Settings:

• 4.4: Use selected soldier in cutscenes (i play mainly with DD soldiers, it looks more linear and is good for giggles whenever you hear Sutherland's voice on a female soldier :p )

Enemy Preparedness:

• 7.5.1: Resupply in 10 missions (or else the constant need for combat deployment quickly becomes a chore)

• 7.10: Random CP subtype in Free Roam

• 7.12: IH interrogation in Free Roam

Patrols & Deployment (skip this part if you're not looking to increase difficulty):

• 9.1: Foot patrols in Free Roam (for the occasional jumpscare when you're roaming through supposedly empty areas)

• 9.3: Heli patrols in Free Roam (i disable it when i want to play non-lethal)

• 9.6: Walker gears in Free Roam (because why the Hell not ?)

• 9.8: Vehicle patrols in FR - each differing type (Tanks and IFVs everywhere, yummy! )

• 9.9: Vehicle patrol class - dark grey (the red ones don't look realistic enough, and the default ones are too soft)

• 9.15: Equipment on trucks

Side Ops

• 10.5: Side ops category filter: once you played them all, disable all (10.5.1 to 10.5.15) except 10.5.5 (prisoner extraction). It helps you get female soldiers (prisoner extraction 02,03,06,09,11,13,18,20)

Mother Base (use following to get tons of female soldiers quickly):

• 11.22: Women in Enemy invasion - 100%

• 11.23: Mother Base wargames - Enemy invasion (warning, once you return to MB, you'll be in enemy territory!)

Now go, equip "none" for primary and secondary weapons, and let the legend come back to life :p
