I'm so torn about starting my first semester of graduate school online

I’m finishing up an online masters degree and while I would say I have absolutely got my money’s worth from it, I think a lot of it has to do with it already being established and tailored towards online. Not like this semester when many universities had a week to make the transition.

Anyway, I’ll cut to the chase. You won’t get the same organic engagement as you would in a classroom in real time. I think the rest depends on how you learn. I never got much from listening to a lecture and always had to go back and read through the material on my own to learn it. Also my program is particularly heavy on writing due to the fact that an online environment isn’t really conducive to ‘fair’ exams. I think the writing is a lot more valuable anyway.
