In the state of Missouri, it is entirely legal for someone to go onto eBay, buy a firearm, meet someone in the McDonalds parking lot, and receive the weapon.
In Missouri, you are NOT required to to have a state permit to purchase. You do NOT have to register your firearm. You do NOT need your permit for concealed carry or open carry. There is NO required background checks for private sales. If that doesn’t scare you, I don’t know what will.
Krewson and Clay are trying to pass legislation that would enable individual counties to make their own gun laws because what St Louis needs is completely separate from what Jefferson City needs.
Children are dying and rather than sitting there and going “well I dunno! We’ve tried everything it’s all society’s fault blah blah gangs are killing each other blah blah”
Our public school system is piss poor, we basically shuttle kids from school to prison because the funding is laughably low, and teachers usually quit after a year or two. The opioid epidemic is creeping into the city which, y’know, will just make EVERYTHING better.
So rather than sitting there and assuming that St Louis is beyond saving, why don’t we all get up and go work to fix the city? Advocate for more education funding, join Big Brother Big Sister, support local businesses, volunteer at homeless shelters, etc.
