Jon Stewart on why Donald Trump is a "repudiation of Republicans"

True. I have family in West Virginia and Bernie won WV in the primary. They didn't necessarily agree with everything they stood for, but it was better than the other options. It's not so much that people hate the things that Dems stand for, its moreso they really couldn't get with the candidate the DNC ended up backing, and with pretty legit concern. It also goes back to that argument of being ignorant vs being straight up hateful. There's people that voted Trump I know in person that I wouldn't consider hateful and obviously have good intentions, but they underestimate what's going on until they see it in person. Don't get me wrong it's still annoying af that we have to handle this shit with kid gloves when most people really should know better by now, but there's a lot people still have to explain to eachother instead of just shouting and being snarky. You bringing up Jon Stewart reminded me of of how before Larry Wilmore went off air a lot people on this site whenever his name was even mentioned went "omg unfunny reverse racist" and stuff like that. Don't get me wrong his show could have been handled a LOT better than it was, but it made me think about how Dave Chappelle did stuff when his show was still airing and white people fucking LOVE Chappelle. If you can get people to laugh, you got their attention.
