Just fell out of my chair at physical therapy bc their enterance isn’t wheelchair accessible. Why are medical offices and PT places not accessible!?

the "just call us for help" thing annoys the piss out of me. i should not have to go through a gatekeeper for something as basic as entering a building or being permitted inside the accessible bathroom.

they think they're being benevolent and practical, but they have no idea how frustrating it is not being allowed to do something they take for granted without getting permission first from an annoyed receptionist who is busier with other tasks. and there are endless reasons why that model fails in practice: no phone on the client to call inside; communication disabilities; severe anxiety; the employees not answering the client; the employees not believing the client is disabled...
