Just a friendly reminder: you don't have to be good at your hobbies

As I understood it, op isn't asking any of your "serious" artists to do anything differently. But you're right, I am, and I do think people should chill a bit in general, in most cases in life.

As I see it, op's post is more directed at people doing art primarily for enjoyment ("hobbyists" I guess) who are dealing with their insecurity and doubts, and suggesting a shift in attitude.

In any event, I think it's a false dichotomy. People move back and forth between the two attitudes, and that's not a bad thing. Plenty of hobbyists are dead serious and make incredible progress even though they're doing purely for the hell of it. And plenty of serious artists who are severe about their (and others') work stagnate and stop producing, for lots of reasons.
