Just look at those "racist fliers!"

No, I'm saying its a fact the people who developed the model had racist intentions matters, regardless if the CBC supported harsh sentencing on drug dealers. How it was policed, how the policy is policed has been wildly distorted intentionally. This has been going for years in black communities...I mean get real dude. Even though the policy itself isnt necessarily, its how its policed.

You get rid of the criminal enterprise by removing the profit motive and the only way to do that is to decriminalize all drugs and regulate them. Legalize marijuana because that's shown to be a healthier alternative for say...opioid addicts. Provide public health options vs years in prison that cost the state thousands of dollars hence a shift to private prisons. Who donate to Republicans to keep policies we know have a negative and yes racial effect.

"Don't do illegal shit." Taking drugs are not the same as robbing someone or hurting someone and punishing them the same is stupid and unjust and we know that now. That's also a problem by the way, we've created a cyclical system where mostly fathers are thrown in jail for most of their kids' childhood. This itself has a compounding domino like affect which also proves why its not smart and wasteful.

And police training is another thing that needs to be addressed. There's a lot of good police officers, theres also a lot of bad ones. We need legitimate reform based on data we already to prove policies dont work and find ones that do and manage them properly. If you want to negotiate on which drugs are legal vs decriminalized then OK.

Maybe its not 100% to say the War on Drugs was intentionally racist, but it was heavily influenced by it and the racial stereotyping of "thugs" and all of that kind of speech minimizes the effect and clouds the solutions from being taken seriously by those that just want to say its all about personal responsibility. Of course it is, but addiction is a genetic thing as well not everybody can control as well as the next person. If people arent taught by their parents to be decent, how do you expect them to find information on it? Just saying people need to not do illegal things, well yea dude...thats obvious to everybody don't you think?
