Just twenty companies account for nearly a third of the world's carbon emissions. Here is a graph of the top polluters since 1965. The y-axis is in BILLIONS of tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. [OC]

I don’t know if people realize how much stuff is make from oil. Plastics, makeup, literally everything is make from the result of oil in some way whether it’s in the actual composition of the product or something that uses oil in the process to produce the product. The world would be a lot different if we did not use oil. Yes I think we should start switching to other alternative cleaner fuels but the most clean and efficient fuel is opposed by a lot of the world and people think is bad and that is nuclear energy. People say let’s make damn for hydrothermal electricity but they don’t realize how many damns we need to make to power a country like america and the environmental impact that will have and people don’t realize how much land will have to be taken from animals and destroyed to make wind farms.
